The A Side: A Day in The Life

As we look to continue our story of growth internationally, you will work closely with the International Marketing team in London and Berlin and assist in all aspects of the marketing process. You will support the team on priority campaigns, to ensure these are executed in an efficient and timely way, as well as general administrative support to the team.



Projects you work on will include releases from Deutsche Grammophon, Decca, Mercury KX, Verve Label Group and Blue Note, but may also come from other Classics and Jazz repertoire centres within UMG.



The B Side: Skills & Experience



Be Collaborative



  • Assist on all aspects of a marketing campaign from planning phase to execution
  • Handling, updating and circulating the master Global C&J frontline release schedule, sourcing from label schedules
  • Compiling and circulating the monthly Global Priorities Sheet and team newsletter
  • Assisting with setting up Infomails and circulation
  • Meeting coordination – organising regular territory group calls, including agenda management
  • Collating marketing plans for priority projects, including marketing spend and activity
  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly executive summaries for key priorities and other ad hoc reports as directed
  • Setting up interview schedules with artists (zoom, phone & face-to-face), arranging artist promotion trips and accompanying artists when appropriate
  • Arranging artist travel and preparing itineraries
  • Assisting in organising launch events, showcases and press conferences as required
  • Collating international classical & jazz charts into a newsletter format on a weekly basis
  • Organizing CD sales & signings for selected touring artists
  • Arranging and preparing for conferences & meetings on behalf of the team
  • Updating internal distribution databases
  • Screening incoming press articles and co-ordination of the press archive
  • Arranging audio playlist for team Listening Sessions
  • Soliciting promo CDs
  • General administration (couriers, filing, ordering stationery)
  • To carry out any other reasonable instructions as directed by marketing team
  • Ad hoc publishing clearances for named artists
  • Attending all departmental, label and other relevant meetings and take minutes as directed
  • Attending concerts, showcases and other work events as required


Be Commercial



  • Communicating and assisting marketing managers to enact the Global Priority system, with the objective of delivering optimal commercial results and breaking new artists against the Group’s acknowledged criteria


Person Specification



Necessary



  • Strong communication & diplomacy skills with ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Record company experience (preferably Marketing) or experience in arts administration
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Ability to use own initiative in terms of problem solving and thinking ahead
  • IT Literate – good understanding of Powerpoint, Keynote, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • A good understanding of the marketing process
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Efficient, with excellent time management skills
  • The ability to learn and work quickly
  • Hard working and enthusiastic


Desirable



  • Passionate about music, with some knowledge of Classical and/or jazz
  • Foreign language skills and an appreciation of other cultures
